DIIY - Jersey Third Straight 2022-23

Description

It's time again for a new series and, appropriately, the jersey that goes with it, which makes the Boys in Brown appear a little more colorful and should accompany them on their way through the 22/23 DFB Cup. This year's design is based on the murals by the street artist, urban designer and graffiti king Walter Josef Fischer alias OZ, who died in 2014, and thus pays him a well-deserved tribute.

OZ did not and does not only stand for colorful smileys, pizzas, slogans, squiggles or almost endless comets throughout Hamburg - rather it is part of our city's history and symbolizes the creatively charged, silent rebellion against a superficial society and the fight against a city culture that is too gray. A lot more information about him, his life and his work as well as a constantly growing map of his works in the Hamburg city area can be found at CITY OF OZ - an internet project in honor of Walter Josef Fischer alias OZ.

Together with friends and former companions of Fischer, it was decided in the course of creating this cup jersey that part of the sales proceeds should flow into a fund managed by the St. Pauli Fanladen, which will be used to organize graffiti workshops for children, young people and FLINTA*. -To carry out people in the St. Pauli district and to support the beautification/painting of the stadium environment on legal walls. In addition, the care of Walter Josef "OZ" Fischer's grave will be financially supported for the next ten years.

OZ loved birds and preferred to feel "Free like a Bird" and was and is an integral and important part of our neighborhood and the entire city - long live the spray! Then, now and forever.
